Music Off Main Free Concert October 24th

October 16, 2013

The Polka Kings from Knoxville to Preform at Towne Square Shopping Center

The second Music Off Main (MOM) downtown concert proudly presented by Main Street: Greeneville is slated for Thursday, October 24th beginning at 6:30pm. The event will take place in the parking lot of Towne Square Shopping Center located at 233 West Summer Street, Greeneville, TN.

It’s fall and as they say, whoever they are, “music is in the air”. Music Off Main (MOM) will feature The Polka Kings from Knoxville, TN who will begin at 7pm. Polka music is a lively, energetic style of music that originated in what is now known as the Czech Republic (then known as Bohemia). This style of music transcends the generations.

What happens when you combine Waclaw Koneczny on accordion, Jack Furnari on clarinet, and Roger Sullivan on drums? What happens is “The Polka Kings”! Not sure how to Polka; no problem free dance instruction will begin at 6:30pm. Put on those dancing shoes and come on out.

Consumer Credit Union and Bewley Properties, Inc. are the generous sponsors of this second Music Off Main event. Other partners include Towne Square Shopping Center, The Greeneville Arts Council who will host a Children’s Art Tent and Christ United Methodist Church who will host a Pet Pavilion.

Please come early and shop with your local downtown merchants prior to the concert. Dine at one of our local downtown restaurants prior to the concert or select something from one of the local food vendors at the event.

Monterrey Mexican Restaurant and Subway located in the Towne Square Shopping Center will be open the evening of the concert. Monterrey Mexican Restaurant is open daily from 11am to 10pm. Subway hours are 7am to 8pm daily. Creamy Cup and Top Dog Hot Dog will be on the spot serving up some wonderful fare.
