Volunteers Set Out to Put Up American Flags

Heritage Bank Donates American Flags to Main Street Greeneville

Flags, flags and more flags. While Main Street: Greeneville is proud to handle the flag/banner program in downtown Greeneville for our community they are even more excited when they are able to partner with others. This year Heritage Community Bank volunteered and stepped forward to partner with Main Street on this project. They purchased, from The Greeneville Exchange Club, eighty-one new American flags, one for each available holder, to be flown this week in celebration of The Fourth of July. They have donated the flags to the Main Street Program to be flown at varies times throughout the year moving forward.

When asked why Heritage Community Bank wanted to do this the bank replied “The American Flag symbolizes our Country's heritage; it represents freedom, unity, and democracy. As our name is Heritage Community Bank we display the same heritage our country offers to the community. The downtown American flag donation is a way to give back to the community who has trusted Heritage Community Bank for the past 15 years.” Bank employees Carolyn McCarter, Karen Lawing, LeAnn Dalton, Diane Daugherty and Trey Ricker along with volunteers from Main Street: Greeneville’s Board of Directors placed all the flags in downtown.

The bank also stated: “We are now offering an American flag kit for your home or office with any new account.”

Sarah Webster, Main Street: Greeneville board president commented “We are happy with the contribution that Heritage Community Bank has made to both Main Street: Greeneville and our community and we thank them for this partnership.”
