About Us
Main Street: Greeneville is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1983 and was Tennessee's first of five original Main Street communities. The Main Street initiative is a program of the National Trust Main Street Center and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Our organization supports sustainable, community driven revitalization efforts through design, economic restructuring, organization and promotion. Our Main Street consists of an eighteen block area in the historic downtown of Greeneville that includes both commercial and residential properties.

Community events are the best way to showcase our Downtown and we host the following annual events:
Music Mashup, Battle of the Bands in March
Lyrics on the Lawn, summer concert series in July
Barrel & Leaf, fine spirit raffle in March
Halloween Happenings, holiday fall festival in October
Christmas in Downtown, Holiday celebration & tree lighting

We help with revitalization through our Downtown Improvement Grants and advocacy at the local, state and federal levels.
Mission
To establish partnerships between public and private sectors dedicated to the revitalization of the Main Street District, the preservation of our historic structures and promotion of heritage tourism.
Vision
To be a vibrant downtown that celebrates our heritage and is sustainable for future generations.
