Since 2009, Living Testament has provided music for churches, city festivals, benefit concerts, and school/FCA events across East Tennessee, mainly in Greene County. The band plays a variety of musical styles, infusing worship music with a classic rock influence. They also appreciate the great hymns of the church and often perform some during their live sets or on their recordings.
Songs that speak truth — Some songs, like Collective Soul’s “Shine,” or Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man,” may not be traditional worship songs or hymns, but they do communicate truth, and have been known to show up in the setlist from time to time.
Band members include: Mike Smyth — Lead / Background Vocals, Bass, and Mandolin;
Chance Lamb — Background Vocals, Guitar; Jared Ramsey — Drums, Percussion; Alex Smyth — Lead / Background Vocals, Keyboards, Banjo, and Ukelele along with Mark Rothe – Guitar
Award-winning recording artist Michael Jacobs creates a compelling musical mixture of roots rock, pop, and folk. His songs will entertain, inspire and challenge you. His passion and insights into the "human condition" are obvious. And while the songs are fruits of a well-traveled soul, they do not reflect a jaded one.
Besides receiving numerous awards and nominations, Michael's music has been used in many documentaries and other video presentations. To date, Michael’s performed at over 250 colleges and universities in 45 states, besides numerous libraries, museums, pow-wows, festivals, fairs, house concerts and other gatherings across the U.S. and Canada. A member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, Michael’s an accomplished musician, and writing great songs remains his sole desire and fuels his ambition.
