Auction to Benefit Main Street: Greeneville
Main Street: Greeneville Board of Directors is soliciting items for their Benefit Auction set for Tuesday, Aug. 25, 7:00 pm, at Greeneville Real Estate Auction Team, 210 W Summer St. The auction is open to the public.
Donated Items Needed
“We recognize,” says Chris Thorpe, board president of Main Street, “that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. We are looking for antiques, jewelry, rugs, specialty crafts, one-of-a-kind items, lamps, silver, small appliances, just to give you an idea.”
Board members are gathering items they have that need a new home and they would like to have items to auction off in every price range. Members of the Board are contacting local businesses for auction items as well.
Donated items may be dropped off directly with the auction company at 210 W Summer Street. However, if you need them to be picked up that can be arranged by contacting the Main Street office at 423-639-7202. Kathy Knight is chairing the event so questions may also be answered by calling her at 423-552-3983. Knight says, “It’s a great time to be cleaning out your closets, garages or basements, we hope you will keep Main Street in mind.”
Guest Auctioneers and Food
Main Street hopes to have some “guest auctioneers,” and snack foods will be available.
It will be a fun evening for the audience and Main Street will use the funds they derive to support the projects of Lyrics on the Lawn, promotion of downtown business, banners, Christmas decorations in the downtown, and more.
If you’re looking for some treasures, please mark Tuesday night, Aug. 25, 7:00 pm on your calendar, and raise your bidding paddle in support of Main Street: Greeneville. Visit our website at www.mainstreetgreeneville.org for further details.
