Co.Starters Program Coming to Greeneville

Do you wish for advice before starting a business? Do you wish for assistance in developing a plan to increase profitability of an existing business? If so, Co.Starters may be for you.

Co.Starters is a national program that takes lessons learned from working with thousands of local, creative entrepreneurs and combines that knowledge with lean business modeling methods used by high growth startups.

The nine-week Co.Starters program will begin on August 20th at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Andrew Johnson Complex Building on Main Street. The program, hosted by Main Street Greeneville, is open to any business in Greene County and surrounding counties. The cost of the program is $90, which covers printed materials. To register for the event, go to the Main Street Greeneville website or call 639-7102. The deadline for registration is August 10th.

Participants in the Co.Starters program will work with a small and supportive group of like-minded people who are all trying to start or grow their own business. Working together, participants identify their assumptions about why and how their respective businesses will succeed, and talk with customers to validate their ideas. The process enables the entrepreneurs to rapidly uncover issues in their proposed businesses, find practical solutions quickly, and leave the program with a deeper understanding of how to launch a successful business.

Valuable assistance in establishing and promoting the program is being provided by the Greene County Partnership, the Town of Greeneville, Rural Resources, AccelNow, LiftTN and the First Tennessee Development District.
